The Bee

Hello hello! Welcome to an episode of fun lettering pages to color.
I admit, I don’t have a whole lot to say about this printable that I made for my Lettering Class. It is a quote from a homily by St John Chrysostom that I just happen to really love. It is so simple and to the point, and so deep with meaning as well.
I love bees and I thought that I had seem them represented in Christian art, so I did a little research and what do you know…I was right. They represent a few things actually. Bees and honey are mentioned several times in scripture in reference to Christ and his attributes of sweetness and gentility. Bees are also used as a symbol of the Blessed Mother! But what I really love is Chrystostoms reference to them in his homily. The bee doesn’t work for accolades or for self, but for the others to survive. It is an act of sacrificial love through it’s work. So beautiful!

I hope you enjoy another lettering project/coloring page. My students will once again be using water colors first to paint their pieces and then their Tombow calligraphy pens to trace in the lettering. Enjoy!
(Just a note to ask that you use this page only for personal use. Use in religious classes is acceptable, however the page may not be sold or reproduced for monetary gain. Thank you!)
This is such a lovely project! And it had such a special meaning to me… I hope I will get to chat with you this week at co-op about it…! ♥️
